Thread-forming Screws - Standard and Bespoke Solutions in the UK
What are Thread-forming Screws?
A Thread-forming Screw creates its own thread in a pre-punched or drilled hole by displacing material, rather than cutting it. Their unique tri-lobular shape reduces friction during installation providing better alignment, easier drive and excellent resistance to loosening. Particularly suitable for softer materials such as plastics, sheet metals and non-ferrous metals. Usually supplied in a higher tensile strength to standard screws.
Masons can supply Pozi Pan, Pozi Countersunk, Hex Washer Faced and 6lobe Pan heads, available in a range of sizes, materials and finishes.
